This 1984 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am is a one-owner car with V8 power, cool upgrades, and T-tops. It all makes for an intriguing classic – especially for this value price.

These early 3rd gen coupes had a leaner look and terrific sharp lines. The factory-correct metallic blue was given a respray later in life, and we love the design of the decals that lets it fade into the silver body effects kit. There was even a hood decal to really show off the offset power dome. The value price leaves room in your budget if you want to make new improvements on this, and the sale even comes with a replacement hood graphic, too. Where you can see the difference in a one-owner car is in the details. The added care shows in the way the doors close with confidence, the weather-stripping is pliable, the panels fit well, and the T-tops rest snugly. And when you care for a vehicle for four decades, you also get to put your personal touches on it. This one looks quite retro cool with the rear window louvers, bright exhaust tips, and gold/chrome wire wheels.

T-tops and cloth seats are always a good combo for all-day driving. And a Trans Am loves to be a driver’s car with bucket seats, a center console, a sports steering wheel on a tilt column, and a full round gauge package with large speedo and tach. The factory air conditioning has been converted to R134a, and it likely just needs a recharge to blow cold again. The driver’s seat has room for improvement (and it’s a reminder that the five-digit odometer likely doesn’t represent the full current mileage.) But overall, what we like about this one is that one-owner cars get treated with added care. And this one gets fun upgrades in the mix, too. You saw it on the exterior with the wire wheels, and inside you get an AM/FM/CD full stereo system. So the depth of the trunk is now used as a custom speaker box for the powered subwoofers. It makes for a classic coupe that’s still fun to drive around all weekend long.

Another reason this is a great driver is because of what’s under the hood. The 305 cubic-inch V8 with a four-barrel carburetor is always ripe for plenty of affordable power upgrades. But as you can see, this one is refreshingly stock and correct. That’s more of the right care of a one-owner machine. Besides, these High Output motors are already quite impressive for their off the line torque. Plus, when you add power steering, power brakes w/front discs, and a four-speed automatic transmission with highway-friendly overdrive, you get a classic that’s easy to enjoy near or far.

Complete with the title documentation, this is the one-owner classic Trans Am that has the right mix of care and upgrades. And it’s priced to really let you put your own personal touches on its legacy. So don’t miss out, call today!
