hevy wrote the book on the car/truck hybrid when they debuted the El Camino. Other car manufactures tried to mimic it with little to no success. As the years progress the El Camino went from a true farm truck and morphed into one of the most memorable muscle cars of all time. 1969 and 70 were the pinnacle of the muscle car era and the words El Camino coincided with badging that read SS and 396 and 454. Through out the 70’s the El Camino kind of got soft until their final run in the 80’s. I guess you can say, the El Camino went out with a bang. The SS Badging was brought back to life and flashy decals and mouldings really brightened up the look. However, if you wanted true muscle, you had to make it yourself. As you’ll read on about this 1986 Chevy El Camino and view the many pictures and watch the video at the end, you’ll learn that with a little finishing, this car will run with the big boys from 1969 and 70.
