What we are looking at here is a European-sourced Mercedes-Benz from this era of R107 cars. SL’s marketed Stateside from this era had engines that were gasping for air to meet stringent emissions requirements and appeared tacky thanks to ridiculous looking 5-mph bumpers.
This one doesn’t have the styling or power setbacks of US-market examples- however, it does appear that the front headlights on this Euro car have been swapped for US-spec sealed beams.
Gorgeous Silver Blue paint adorns the exterior of this 380SL and the chrome lined bumpers, side mirrors and classic Mercedes 16″ chrome wheels contrast smartly.
This is a ‘Benz that you’ll love to drive as well as look at thanks to the German sourced 3.8l V8 engine that was replaced 60,000 miles ago. A 4-speed automatic transmission that was rebuilt several years ago shifts this ‘Merc through the gears nicely.
You’ll adore the soft Blue leather interior on this high-society cruiser which was also reupholstered in this car’s lifetime. Air conditioning will keep you nice and cool while driving this Mercedes and the dash appearance hasn’t been ruined by an aftermarket stereo system – the original Becker AM/FM/Cassette player is still present and functional. Power windows and locks are nice convenience features and no, the dash isn’t cracked on this example like many R107 cars.
